DRI for Historically Black Colleges and Universities
Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ invites undergraduate students who are rising juniors or seniors from Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) in our region to apply to participate in the Davidson Research Initiative (DRI).
The Davidson Research Initiative is a mentored undergraduate research training program held on the campus of Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ each summer. The program lasts for four to ten weeks (project dependent) from mid-May until early August. Participating students are paired with a Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ faculty member who will collaborate with and mentor them on an independent research project. Participants receive a stipend of $600 per week to support their housing and living expenses, and up to $1,000 for project-related supplies or travel. On campus housing is also available upon request at the same rates charged for Davidson students.
Examples of past projects include: DRI Summer 2025 Projects (we will change this to the list of confirmed projects for summer of 2026 once that is ready-hopefully in January)
Application Deadline: March 16, 2026
Application materials must include: · Summer 2025 Application Form (will update this link once have list of project for 2026)
· Resume or CV
· Official institutional transcript · Two letters of recommendation, each accompanied by this form: HBCU Letter of Recommendation Form

Note: HBCU students accepted as DRI Summer Research Fellows will be expected to participate fully in the DRI Summer Research Program, as Davidson students would, meeting the same requirements and complying with all Davidson policies, including adhering to Davidson's Honor Code.
